About Bruce Simmons

Bruce is an achievement oriented person who shares his time, energies, and talents with others. Bruce’s efforts result in others improving their own talents, but also in serving to improve life for other people through the efforts of those he assists.

Bruce built South Spring Farms as an agricultural row crop grain operation that spreads across five townships in three counties.

Bruce is licensed under executive authority by the Ohio Department of Agriculture, as an Auctioneer, and by the Ohio Department of Commerce, as a Realtor.  Bruce also earned his commercial applicator’s license from the Ohio Department of Agriculture.  Bruce was professionally recognized by the Institute for Supply Management as a lifetime fellow as a Certified Purchasing Manager.

Bruce possesses degrees in law (LL.M., J.D.), economics (Ph.D., M.A., B.A.), management, and religion (M.Div.).  Bruce is licensed under judicial authority by the United States Supreme Court, the State of Florida Supreme Court, the State of Ohio Supreme Court, and the District of Columbia U.S. Court of Appeals. 

Professional employment was as a faculty member within an AACSB accredited school of business administration where primary emphasis and reward was placed upon course presentations and development.  Presentations included ten of the twelve courses required for the management major. 

His intellectual contributions exceeded four dozen publications.  He served as a reviewer for five academic journals.  He served on dissertation committees at two neighboring state universities.  As academic advisor, his student leaders, in the first two years of his guidance, increased membership by over 300% and revenues by 700%.  They became the largest student group on campus.  Under Bruce’s guidance, several students won academic recognition. One student placed third in an international APICS paper contest.

Bruce served as a Babson College Fellow in entrepreneurship. In 1985, Bruce assisted in the creation and implementation of the forerunner program to the Institute of Global Business. In 1986, Bruce drafted and submitted a proposal for the creation for innovation and entrepreneurial institute consisting of 11 proposed interdisciplinary courses, the creation of an undergraduate and graduate innovation major, and including recognition dinner and fundraising activities.
